Industrial symbiosis and bio-based business models offer powerful tools to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
To this regard, SYMBIO offers a unique opportunity to build social value into business models from the design stage. By identifying opportunities for social value creation early on and incorporating them into decision-making criteria, businesses can maximize benefits for both society and the organization.
Because shaping a greener future is a collective task, we encourage you to join our 2-day technical workshop (one in each participant's country), which will provide operational tools for modelling resilient bio-based businesses and their social, economic, and environmental impacts using free AI tools.
First session: the power of industrial symbiosis
During the first session, we will take the first steps in developing indicators that businesses can use to measure the social value of new business models. This process involves integrating a top-down understanding of sustainable development policy goals for each region with bottom-up contributions from the business community. By the end of the session, you will have achieved the following:
Second session: training and playground
The second day participants will be able to discover and test the sophisticated Value Chain Generator tool. Created by VCG.AI, this platform uses artificial intelligence and big data processing to identify key elements such as regional feedstock availability, market dynamics, business models, and potential partnerships. By combining these components, companies can create a roadmap for transitioning to circular models. We can say a few words about 2nd day of the workshop.
Target audience
The upcoming SYMBIO workshop will be particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as it will help them improve their investments, receive concrete advice, and connect with regional and international industries. Clusters will also benefit by upgrading their skills, adding new services to their portfolios, or being better equipped to assist SMEs in terms of zero-waste circular business models.
