Interregional cooperation is key to developing new value chains, knowledge and shared innovation, providing opportunities for regional growth for a sustainable economy.
The SYMBIO methodology was presented at the Vanguard Initiative Mid-Term Report meeting in Brussels on 1 October 2024. The meeting aimed to illustrate the main progress made by the 40 regions participating in the Bioeconomy Pilot, which dedicated space to the SYMBIO project, which has activated a mutual learning collaboration as well as joint work for the construction of interregional business models.
The Vanguard Initiative is a unique alliance of Europe's most advanced industrial regions. It stimulates industrial innovation and creates European value chains based on complementarities in regional Smart Specialization Strategies.
By connecting innovation ecosystems and sharing knowledge and structures between its member regions, the Vanguard Initiative facilitates interregional collaboration, stimulates investment in interregional innovation, strengthens open innovation and accelerates the introduction and market uptake of new European products and innovations.
